Day Trip to Brighton

When I first came to London I said that I want to see as many other cities as possible. I wanted to travel through the UK and just make the most of it.

I have been really bad with travelling though and after staying for 8 month in the same city I got a little bit tired of it.  Don’t get me wrong London is beautiful and I love being here but once in a while you just need a change and see something different; get away from the everyday routine.
So last Sunday it was finally time for my first day trip. The destination: Brighton.

The day started pretty early but I didn’t mind it at all! I was just happy to finally leave London and see another city. I felt so adventurous that day hehe.
The train ride was fun, short and cheap… a perfect combination. We were four people and each of us had to pay 15£ and if we would have booked earlier it would have been even cheaper.
After nearly an hour on the train we arrived in the still unknown city.

Brighton is such a beautiful place! Everything there is just so cute. Small little shops, nicely decorated streets, houses you would like to move in straight away and of course the ocean and the beach.  I always loved being at the sea … I think it’s just the most calming thing  listening to the sound of the waves.

At the Brighton Pier we actually had a ride with a rollercoaster and later we drove two rounds with a roundabout. I felt like a little girl again and you couldn’t wipe the big smile away from my face.
For lunch we went to a really nice Italian restaurant, “Donatello”. It is located right in the heart of “The Lanes” (a few streets with a lot of tiny adorable shops and restaurants). We had a three course meal for 11£!!!! And it tasted amazing!

The day was just perfect. I felt like I’m on an adventure from beginning to end. It was nice to get away from the big city life and be in a city where you can walk without bumping into someone every 5 seconds.  I felt so relaxed and hyped from happiness at the same time after I came home. Travelling is something that always makes me feel like I’m living my life to the fullest. Even if the journey just goes to the closest next city.

I definitely want to go back to Brighton … maybe in summer then it should be even more stunning.
