Being a #WeekendWarrior at the Wireless Festival

I’ve tried now for nearly three weeks to describe my experience of the Wireless Festival on this blog but I failed again and again…

So I decided to keep it really short this time.

Wireless was amazing! I got the chance to see great artist I probably never would have seen otherwise, the location (Finsbury Park) was really nice with a lot of food stands ( I got twice a free frozen Yogurt from Snogg and had a delicious gluten free pizza) and most importantly I had a tremendous weekend with friends!

Saturday we saw Conor Maynard, Childish Gambino ( my personal surprise of the day… he was amazing and the crowed loved him), Kendrick Lamar and Avicii.

On Sunday the stages got occupied by  Charli xcx *heart eye emoji*, Cleanbandit, Jessi J, Willow and Jaden Smith who by the way smashed it! David Guetta was there as well and after being slightly late (an hour and a half or something because she had some struggles with her plain) Nicki Minaj. She is such a Queen!! Her performance was on point and it was the perfect ending for this weekend.

It was so much fun and I had an marvellous time and I am sure I’ll remember those couple of days for a long long time.

On the Road again

Last weekend it was again time for a little break of the London-Life. So I hit the road again this time to Cardiff, the beautiful capital of Wales to go to a concert of my guilty pleasure One Direction.

My friends and I took the coach on Friday… It is simply the cheapest way of travelling and this time the drive was just 3 hours long and actually the seats were quite comfortable and the coach was nearly empty so each of us had a pair of seats for our own.

We arrived half past midnight and one of the biggest challenges of the weekend was to find our hostel… But with the help of one really friendly and one really drunk guy we managed to find our way. And let me tell you something if you ever want to stay in Cardiff go for the “River House” Hostel. It is super cute and the people who own the place are so nice and friendly. But the best part is the breakfast… They offer three different types of yogurt, different cereals, fruits and coffee, tea, normal milk and soy milk, croissants and Nutella, peanut butter and like four different kinds of jam.

On Saturday we walked through the city, a park and we had a look at the Cardiff Castle. In the morning it was really calm, not a lot of people were on the streets and in the shops… for lunch time that changed drastically. Around that time all the people who wanted to go to the concert later arrived or left there hotels to eat something before they queue in front of the venue.

There was no way of finding a place to eat something. Everywhere all the seats were taken or the kitchen was too busy. I ended up eating in a pub where you were just allowed if you are 18. The food was disappointing but if you have been looking for a place to eat for two hours you take what you get.

After that we went back to our hostel to get ready for the concert. The hostel was right next to the Millennium Arena and from our room we could already see all the people standing in front of the arena waiting to get in (some of them have been standing there the whole night).

It was super busy at the arena. Everybody was just so excited and there were so many little kids… I mean it was One Direction after all…

The opening act was McBusted and I felt in love with them. I’ve heard a few songs of them before but they just smashed it singing live.

With One Direction going on stage the screaming started… Although I must say I was expecting worse. It was a really nice atmosphere during the concert. The boys were happy being on stage and they did a great performance and all of the fans were just happy to see them and listens and sing a long at the top of their lunges to their songs… me included.

After the show I was super tired and my throat and my feed were hurting but it was worth it.

On Sunday my friend and I went to Cardiff Bay. There we had a really nice boat trip and really nice lunch at one of the restaurants of the “Mermaid Quay”.
After that we went back to our hostel because later that evening our coach back home to London  was leaving. We finished our stay with an intense game of Monopoly the Cardiff edition hehe.

I really enjoyed being in Cardiff… the city is beautiful and I really want to come back because I feel like there is so much more to see and to do.

Adventures in Scotland

Last week there was a long Bank Holiday weekend and for my friends and me it was the perfect opportunity to pack our bags and go away for a few days.

So on Friday night we took a night coach. The drive was awfully long and not just my bum but my whole body was hurting… After 8 hours of waking up every 30 minutes, annoying people on the back seats and a snoring person next to me we arrived at our eagerly anticipated destination: Edinburgh.

During those two days I stayed there I felt in love with the city, the country site and the people who live there.

I would like to talk about every single detail of my trip but I’m afraid that is not possible… I would write for years and years haha.

But there are a few thinks I just have to tell you about…
First of all the Hostel. We stayed at the “Budget Backpacker” which is part of the “Kick Ass Hostels” and oh my world that hostel was everything I could have asked for. Our room was the 30 bedroom dorm, mixed. At first I was a little bit nervous about that … sleeping with so many other people who you have never met before in the same room. But it was totally fine! The hostel had a kitchen were you could cook your own food or if you didn’t felt like cooking they was a bar were you could get amazing breakfast, lunch or dinner and of course some really nice shots, cocktails and beer.  The people who work there were super nice and friendly and always up for a chat. The atmosphere was just relaxing and careless in the best way possible, it felt like you would live together with people you are friends with.

There are a lot of things to see in Edinburgh and I think I saw most of them while I did a walking tour through the city. But my favourite was the Arthur’s Seat. It is a mountain and the hike to the top was long and exhausting! My legs were hurting like crazy and it was super windy up there. But all those struggles were paid of with the most amazing view of the city and the ocean. If you ever go there the Arthur’s seat should be the first point on your to do list.
the way up ...

One of the main things I learn from staying in Edinburgh is that the Scottish people have a huge drinking culture! They love theirs bars and pubs and just drinking together! On Saturday night my friends and I went out… We stared with some pre drinks in our hostel. Once we were in a proper party mood we went to the closest IRISH pub… the people there were crazy! Everyone was dancing to the live music and it was not possible to have a conversation. The next stop was a bar where we wanted to play some pool… but the people there just started and we didn’t feel like waiting. So we had a shot and went to the next one… On our way we met some Scottish fellows who said they know a good place to go to. We walked with them for like 10 min and then decided to leave them and just hope we find a nice place by ourselves. And so we did. Opium was the name of the next bar. It was a proper rocker bar if you asked me. Some guys on the street gave us a wristband for this bar. With it we got the drinks a little bit cheaper which was an opportunity we gladly took. We didn’t stay long though … maybe 20 minutes and a walk to the toilet. Our final stop was a club named “Bungoo”. The music there wasn’t really my cup of tea… mainly reggae music that night. It was fun at the beginning but it got quite quickly boring. I can’t really remember when we left but I do remember that I was awfully tired, my feet were hurting and I felt asleep as soon as I laid down in my bed.

The shot is called "Chicken Fotus" ...

On Monday it was time to say good bye to our Hostel and Edinburgh. The coach ride back to London wasn’t anything out of the ordinary … I got car sick, we had a stop in Newcastle and when we arrived in London it was raining…
