Last weekend it was again time for a little
break of the London-Life. So I hit the road again this time to Cardiff, the
beautiful capital of Wales to go to a concert of my guilty pleasure One
Direction.
My friends and I took the coach on Friday…
It is simply the cheapest way of travelling and this time the drive was just 3
hours long and actually the seats were quite comfortable and the coach was
nearly empty so each of us had a pair of seats for our own.
We arrived half past midnight and one of
the biggest challenges of the weekend was to find our hostel… But with the help
of one really friendly and one really drunk guy we managed to find our way. And
let me tell you something if you ever want to stay in Cardiff go for the “River
House” Hostel. It is super cute and the people who own the place are so nice
and friendly. But the best part is the breakfast… They offer three different types
of yogurt, different cereals, fruits and coffee, tea, normal milk and soy milk,
croissants and Nutella, peanut butter and like four different kinds of jam.
On Saturday we walked through the city, a
park and we had a look at the Cardiff Castle. In the morning it was really
calm, not a lot of people were on the streets and in the shops… for lunch time
that changed drastically. Around that time all the people who wanted to go to
the concert later arrived or left there hotels to eat something before they queue
in front of the venue.

There was no way of finding a place to eat
something. Everywhere all the seats were taken or the kitchen was too busy. I
ended up eating in a pub where you were just allowed if you are 18. The food
was disappointing but if you have been looking for a place to eat for two hours
you take what you get.
After that we went back to our hostel to
get ready for the concert. The hostel was right next to the Millennium Arena
and from our room we could already see all the people standing in front of the
arena waiting to get in (some of them have been standing there the whole night).
It was super busy at the arena. Everybody
was just so excited and there were so many little kids… I mean it was One
Direction after all…
The opening act was McBusted and I felt in
love with them. I’ve heard a few songs of them before but they just smashed it
singing live.
With One Direction going on stage the
screaming started… Although I must say I was expecting worse. It was a really
nice atmosphere during the concert. The boys were happy being on stage and they
did a great performance and all of the fans were just happy to see them and
listens and sing a long at the top of their lunges to their songs… me included.
After the show I was super tired and my
throat and my feed were hurting but it was worth it.
On Sunday my friend and I went to Cardiff
Bay. There we had a really nice boat trip and really nice lunch at one of the
restaurants of the “Mermaid Quay”.
After that we went back to our hostel because
later that evening our coach back home to London was leaving. We finished our stay with an
intense game of Monopoly the Cardiff edition hehe.

I really enjoyed being in Cardiff… the city
is beautiful and I really want to come back because I feel like there is so
much more to see and to do.
